Visualizing the Power of State & Influence Mapping

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Cargografias is an open source / crowdsourced effort to store and visualize all the data about politicians careers in every country.

We started back in 2011 trying to visualize the past of the current and former public servants of Argentinean State. As the tool evolved, we are now treating it as a platform where any country can have their own Instance, for free.

We are eager to help you build your own Cargografias Instance or to join the one being built in your country (Currently: Venezuela, Brasil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Iran, Guatemala and Peru)

I'm inviting also any other Influence Mapping related project (Poderopedia, LittleSys, etc) join the talk and help us all join the effort and cooperate in building and improving all of this tools.

Topics to be presented:
- Brief introduction to standards (Popolo standard in this case)
- Introduction to our method of builidng and managing the Politicians Datasets
- How to build an Cargografias Instance
- Open talk about improvements and fixes to our (or other similar) tools.

Topics to be discussed:
- How to keep all Influence Mapping projects connected
- How to reach out to gobernments for help, data and funding for the aforementioned
- Which standard to use (hot topic!)
- How to get people/media to use our tools
