Director of the Centro Nacional de Cálculo (CENAC) of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) since May 2014, member of PIIG-Lab at CIC-IPN, former Director of Systems, Informatics and Telecommunications of National Council of Research Science and Technology (CONACYT) and former head of the Laboratory of Intelligent Information Processing Geospatial in CIC-IPN. PhD in Computer Science (2007) and member of the National Research System level 1. He has over 100 articles in journals, national and international conferences as well as being a reviewer for publications such as the International Journal of Geographical Information Science, Computers and Geosciences and Computers in Human Behavior, among others. He teaches the courses of Foundations of Geographic Information Science and Tools for the design and implementation of GIS within the master and doctorate programs in computer science at CIC-IPN. In addition, he is an evaluator of different programs of the CONACYT such as PNPC, PEI, CFE-CONACYT and SEP-CONACYT.
